Git is a popular revision control system that is used by many open source projects Github is a web-based Git repository hosting service, with all of the functionality of Git, but with the social features, team management (wikis, issue tracker) and access control. Github has helped raise the profile of open source projects, better connecting project with contributor by making repositories more ‘more findable and participatory’.

We’ll be using Git and Github for our first ‘Pull Request’ :)

We will be cloning this Github repository, and adding your introduction to this file .

Steps

  1. Follow these steps to fork the curriclum repository.
  2. Clone the repository following these steps.
  3. Open the participation_stories.md file which is under technical_training/github in your favourite markdown text editor.
  4. Follow the first step to add your name],and link your to the Introduction URL you created on Webmaker earlier in the course.
  5. Commit and Push.
  6. Create a first pull request!
